How can I pay?

You can pay online via Eventbrite once registration opens.

What is the cost?

10K- £35 per competitor with a sponsorship target of £200 each

5k - £25 per competitor with a sponsorship target of £150 each

Muddy Mile - Free

What is the age limit?

10K - 18 and over
5K - 12 and over

Muddy Mile - Open to all ages

What is the cancellation policy?

There is a strict refund policy in place for this event.

​

I acknowledge that the event entry fee and associated costs are non-refundable, including in circumstances where I am unable to attend due to illness or injury or a scheduling conflict, unless:

1) the Organiser cancels or materially delays or alters the event

2) the Organiser makes a significant change to the location of the event or the date of the event so that I am no longer able to attend.

Is there a time limit on how long I can take to complete the event?

There is no time limit on the event, however if you feel you need any assistance then please make this known to one of our marshals. 

​

If I can't finish what happens?

The event will be well marked and monitored by marshals. If you wish to pull out of the event whilst you are participating, please inform the nearest marshal who will deal with the situation accordingly. You can also skip any obstacle you feel uncomfortable with.

Do I need to take part as part of a team?

For the event we recommend teams of 5. We do accept smaller teams or individual runners but in this case you will not be eligible for the team time trial challenge.

 

Are teams required to start or finish together?

The 5K and 10K races will start at different times. Don't worry, if you are too fast for your team mates you do not need to finish together!

Do teams have to take part in the same distance of event?

No, we understand people may want to compete in different events.

​

What happens if I don't achieve the minimum fundraising?

The level of suggested fundraising is a target, therefore you will still be able to participate if you don't meet this minimum level. However, we encourage all our participants to try and raise as much money as possible to help support the fantastic work of the Prince's Trust.  

What time does registration begin?

10K & 5K - Registration will take place between 9.30am and 10.30am outside Craufurdland Castle.

Muddy Mile - Registration will take place between 11.30am and 1.00pm outside Craufurdland Castle.

Where do I collect my number from?

It is best to arrive at registration for 9.30am to collect your race number. There will be a list posted at the side of the registration with names and numbers, please ensure you know your number BEFORE you go to collect your number.

There will be a team list also, please ensure the numbers used for the race are for those they are assigned to; names will be on team numbers list.

Please note that race numbers are not exchangeable and your race number must be clearly visible on your front at all times during the race.

​

If for any reason you are unable to run, please report to registration. Do not give your number to anybody else.

It is also a requirement that an Emergency Contact name and telephone number are written on the back of your race number. For safety reasons you are also required to write the details of any medical condition that race organisers may need to be aware of on the back of your race number.

What time will the race start?

The proposed starting times of the race are as follows:

10K - 11.00am

5K - 11.30am 

Muddy Mile - 1.30pm

Is there a drop off point?

No drop off at the estate gates or Castle Car Park , it is not safe. Drop off outside overflow Carpark at Marchbank field. You can drop off and leave by continuing towards the Kilmarnock A77 , either via Grass Yards Rd or Fenwick A77 via Waterslap Rd in Fenwick depending on which direction you have come without having to turn.

Once in Castle Car Park, there is NO EXIT from the Castle Car Park till after the 5K has finished approx 1 pm, and also NO EXIT from 1.30pm-2.30 pm whilst the Muddy Mile is taking place.

What are the car parking options?

Please follow the signs for parking starting in Fenwick


The car park in front of the castle will close at 10am after which point the cars are parked just outside the Estate gates, (Marchbank field), it takes 15- 20 minutes to walk up.
 

Can we leave the car park at any time? 

Once in Castle Car Park, there is NO EXIT from the Castle Car Park till after the 5K has finished approx 1 pm, and also NO EXIT from 1.30pm-2.30 pm whilst the Muddy Mile is taking place.


There is no parking at the fishery for Woodland Warriors.
 

Is there a water station during the race? 

There will be one water stop mid distance of the 10km route.

The route is staged in fragile natural environments. Please ensure that any litter is left at marshal points.

​

What kit do I need?

You can wear your usual running clothes for the mud run. It will be muddy, so please bring clothes that you don't mind becoming extremely muddy!! A change of clothes for afterwards is also suggested.

 

How to I get to the event?

The event will take place at Craufurdland Castle, Craufurdland Estate, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, KA3 6BS. It can be seen on a map here.

Do I need to bring food?

This is entirely up to yourself, there will be catering facilities there on the day serving a wide range of food. 

​

Are showers available?

Yes, sanitary facilities will be provided. This will allow you to get changed and enjoy the entertainment after the race. There's also a cold hose for those brave enough...

​

Is there somewhere to leave personal belongings?

Yes there are cloakroom facilities on site.

​

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No, you cannot bring your own alcohol to the event. We will however have a pop up bar on site which will serve plenty of alcoholic beverages to quench your thirst.  

​

Can I bring family/pets?

Yes, both family and pets are welcome.  Pets must be on a lead and they are not permitted to take part in the race.
